Delete Your Account

Abstia (the “App”) is developed and operated by Abstia, LLC. This page explains how to delete your Abstia account and the data associated with it, what we delete, what we keep, and for how long.

Delete your account in the app

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from inside Abstia — no request, no waiting:

  1. Open Abstia and go to the Profile tab.
  2. Scroll to the Danger Zone at the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  3. Review what will be removed, then type delete to confirm.
  4. Tap Delete Account. Your account and all of its data are removed immediately and permanently, from both your device and our servers. This cannot be undone.

This works whether you use Abstia anonymously or have linked an email, Google, or Apple account — no sign-in is required beyond being signed into the app itself.

If you can no longer access the app

Already uninstalled Abstia, or unable to sign in? We will delete your account for you:

  1. Email privacy@abstia.com from the email address associated with your Abstia account, using the subject line “Delete my account”.
  2. In the message, confirm the display name on your account so we can verify ownership.
  3. We will confirm your request and permanently delete your account and associated data within 30 days.

Using Abstia anonymously

If you use Abstia anonymously — you never linked an email, Google, or Apple account — your data is tied to a single device install and is not associated with your name or email. The in-app Delete Account step above works for anonymous accounts exactly as it does for linked ones, and is the surest way to remove the underlying record from our servers.

Uninstalling the App only removes your access to that data. If you have already uninstalled and would like the anonymous record deleted, email us at privacy@abstia.com and we will help locate and delete it — note that an anonymous account has no email or name attached, so we may need details such as your device platform and roughly when you started using the App.

What data is deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove all personal data associated with it, including:

  • Account information — display name, email address, profile photo, and authentication credentials
  • Profile information — name, birthdate, height, preferred units, gender, and goal weight
  • Fasting data — your fasts, schedules, completion status, biofeedback entries, and notes
  • Preferences — timer display mode, theme, notification settings, and timezone
  • Connected health data — any weight, calorie, and macronutrient samples synced from Apple Health or Google Health Connect into your Abstia account
  • Device information — push notification token, login timestamps, and device language and region

When you delete from inside the App, the local copy on your device is erased at the same time: the offline database and any queued changes are purged, scheduled fast notifications are cancelled, and you are signed out.

Deleting your Abstia account does not change anything in Apple Health or Google Health Connect. Abstia's health integration is read-only and never writes to them, so the original data remains in your device's health store; we only delete the copy that was synced into Abstia.

What data is kept, and for how long

  • Personal data: removed from our live systems immediately when you delete your account in the App, or within 30 days of an emailed request. Residual copies in routine encrypted backups are cycled out within 30 days.
  • Anonymized analytics: aggregated, de-identified usage and diagnostic data (collected via Vexo Analytics) that cannot be linked back to you may be retained for product analytics. It never includes your health data.
  • Legal records: in the rare case we are required to retain certain records to comply with a legal obligation, we keep only what the law requires and for no longer than required, then delete it.
